Stan's biography
Hailing from a small town near Leuven, where this year’s World Championships will conclude, Stan – who is also a student of bio-engineering – started cycling at the age of nine, but was an avid fan since the age of six, one of his earliest memories of the sport being Tom Boonen’s triumph at the World Championships in Madrid, back in 2005.
The Belgian, who will turn 22 in September, has had a very impressive season so far, racking up eleven top 10 placing in a host of races, from the Circuit de Wallonie and Ronde van Limburg – where he competed against the pros – to the Girobio and the U23 National ITT Championships.
