Seven Grand Tour stages (a rare achievement this century), the iconic maglia ciclamino, Cyclassics Hamburg, the national road race title, European Team Pursuit Champion, the Six Days of Gent and a total of 18 UCI wins – there’s no doubt about it, 2018 has been Elia Viviani’s year. The Italian gelled immediately with his new teammates and went on a worldwide odyssey, picking up victories in three different continents and seven countries

Elia’s sprinting power and cunningness were on display as he piled up the victories, operating on a bigger scale than ever before and outshining all the other fast men of the peloton from January until September in what will easily go down as his annus mirabilis.

The 2019 season will bring fresh challenges and new goals, and while Viviani is aware that last year’s feats will not be easy to replicate, you can be sure he’ll give his all every single time, regardless of the race he will take on.
